Swimming in the AM

This morning I swam at our local YMCA, which I joined a couple of weeks ago. It was hard to get up (honestly, I snoozed twice) but the swim felt so good. The pool was 82 degrees and I really worked on my freestyle breathing (I'm not good at alternating which side I turn my head).

I also got my life insurance medical tests back. Overall they were very good, but I am at high risk for diabetes according to my fasting blood sugar levels. I already knew that, but it's hard to see it again, from a different source. More inspiration to do what I'm doing!

  1. I'm on the same track as you. My blood sugar is too high, my father was a diabetic; lost his foot, his leg and finally his life to diabetes. I'm trying to work out everyday but it is hard. Trying to loose weight but that is hard too. Thanks for having your blog, you do inspire me to keep going.

  2. I am thankful that I swam when I was younger and I love it! I don't do it as often as I should or as often as I'd like but when I do, it does feel great! When you are out of the water, if you don't feel too silly, try doing your strokes in the air and breathing to the "awkward" side. That is what helped me..or breathe every THIRD breath instead of even numbers, like 2 as I suspect you might be. Keep it up!
